Tale toward possible interior meanings (1983-84)

“Everyone may see what he wants… I start with the irons, but I can also confuse them with other subjects every time I watch the images. Instead of the irons you have to find your meanings, and use your own imagination to tell your story with your personal meanings” (Mario Giacomelli, in Mario Giacomelli by Germano Celant, Ed. Photology-Logos 2001).

They are photographs of contorted irons to form abstract signs of strong impact and dynamism. In the midst of these irons, in this series self-portraits of the artist also appear, as he leaves his image to reflect on debris and irons. Here Giacomelli is close to Informality, and not only iconographically but first of all in his method, in the organization his own creativity.
