(ITA) Mario Giacomelli: Figure/Ground

This publication, curated by Virginia Heckert, shows a new look at the work of Mario Giacomelli, one of the most important Italian photographers of the 20th century. Ranging from the photographer’s earliest images to those made in the last years of his life, it celebrates the J. Paul Getty Museum’s vast Giacomelli holdings, built up largely through a major gift from Daniel Greenberg and Susan Steinhauser.

Texts by: Timothy Potts, Virginia Heckert, Katiuscia Biondi Giacomelli, interview by Virginia Heckert with Stephan Brigidi and with Daniel Greenberg and Susan Steinhauser. Distributed in the United States and Canada by the University of Chicago Press, and for the rest of the world by Yale University Press, London.
